What I want to say is: "You raised me well. You made me half the person I am today. An upstanding, honest, and...stubbornly old-fashioned gentleman. My feet will never grow big enough to fill your shoes. ..But I'll be damned if my shoes don't look exactly like yours! I'm going to miss you. I wish you could stay.
